We are a couple. A couple of missionaries. We work in one of the most exciting missions fields in the world, and it’s right in your back yard. The college campus.
Our campus is the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. With students from every state in the union and dozens of countries around the world, the people we get to connect with are diverse. The life stage college students are in is so exciting. As they figure out who they are, what they stand for, and who they’ll be doing that with, we get to point them to Jesus.
We get to do this as members of Illini Life, a Collegiate Church Network church. And we are financially supported by individuals and churches through a missions organization called Great Commission Ministries.
This semester (Fall 2014), Alan will be directing the Connections Ministry of Illini Life and managing communication for the church. We’re launching a new initiative of giving away free coffee on campus to connect with people, which Alan is helping to spearhead. Ashley will be directing the women’s ministry of Illini Life and helping with administrative tasks. Together, we lead a Home Fellowship (small group) and disciple and coach leaders.
